#004. Raise IF awareness to 10 IRL friends/family during NIAW

No, I haven't forgotten this blog.  Okay, so maybe a little.  I have been working on my list, just not updating it here.  No time like the present I guess.  Everything is going to be a little out of order since I am too busy lazy to figure out the actual order in which things have been completed.  I'm just going to start with whatever catches my eye and hopefully continue updating from there.  Fair enough?

So on to the real reason for this post:  Goal #004.  Raise IF awareness to 10 IRL friends/family during NIAW.

Yup, I finally did this one by sending an email out to 10 IRL friends/family (my aunt, 3 grade/high school friends, 1 college roomie, 4 coworkers, and another good friend I met through 1 of those coworker/friends).  Some knew about our IF and some didn't. 

Here is what I sent:

April 24 - May 1, 2010 is National Infertility Awareness Week (NIAW), a movement to raise awareness about the disease of infertility which affects 7.3 million Americans. It is led by RESOLVE which is the the National Infertility Association.

Just doing my part by sending out a couple of good articles to help bring awareness and understanding. I hope you'll take a minute to read them.

I would like to say that it was well received, but ehhh, such is life.  A few acknowledged it by email and/or in person which was so greatly appreciated and helped dissolve my anxiety for sending it in the first place.  (Yes, 5+ years of IF and I'm still mostly in the closet).  Most gave no indication whatsoever which was more my expected response and is totally fine too.  Hopefully they at least read the damn thing.  Yes, I am a warm and fuzzy kind of activist that way.
